REVOLVER. Cal. 44 CF. S# 2369. Bbl. 8 1/8". One of only approximately 9,000 Model 1860 Richards Conversion single action revolvers produced by Colt. Top of the bbl. is marked "-ADDRESS COL. SAML COLT NEW-YORK U.S. AMERICA". Cyl. is engraved with Colt's naval engagement scene. Brass trigger guard with iron rear grip strap. 1-piece smooth wood grip. German silver blade front sight with V-notch rear sight. Matching numbers are present on the frame, trigger guard, rear grip strap, cyl., as well as the bbl. Special conversion number "1139" is present on the left side of the conversion breech plate, on the loading gate, as well as on the cyl. base pin. CONDITION: iron components retain traces of their original factory blue finish, with the balance exhibiting gray and brown patinas, with some spots of age-related discoloration, as well as scattered areas of light to mild surface oxidation and pitting overall. Brass trigger guard retains a pleasing, mellow patina. Bright bore, exhibiting scattered spots and areas of dark pitting while retaining strong rifling throughout. Action functions and cyl. indexes appropriately when cycled by hand. Grip exhibits some scattered marks, impressions, and flaking from handling and storage, with some chipping present on either side at the front corners of the butt, but otherwise remains sturdy and serviceable.
