Cal. 38 RF. S# 18153. Bbl. 4 1/2" oct. w/ out ejector. Brass bead front sight. Loading lever hole is plugged. New York address. Five shot rnd. rebated cyl. w/ stage coach scene roll engraving. Conversion ring is w/ out loading gate. Brass backstrap & triggerguard. Full nickel finish. Left side of frame has July 23rd, 1871 & July 2nd, 1872 patent dates. Bbl., frame & grip straps have matching numbers. Cyl. is renumbered to match, original number was "9709". Unnumbered replacement wedge. One piece walnut grips. Est. quantity of 2,000, all believed converted from percussion revolvers were produced 1873-1875. CONDITION: 90% nickel finish showing light edge & carry wear w/ numerous sm. dents on bbl. Refinished grips show wear & handling marks w/ filled repair on right panel. Strong mechanics. Lightly pitted bore retains sound rifling. (01-20602/DS). ANTIQUE. $1,200-1,800.
