CASE. Cals. Both 36. (1) Pocket Model Navy: S# 6803. Bbl. 4 1/2” octagon w/ New York address & cone style bead. Round rebated five shot cyl. w/ stagecoach scene roll engraving. Blue & case colored finish w/ silver finished backstrap & trigger guard. 1 piece walnut grip. Bbl., frame, grip straps, cyl. & wedge have matching numbers. Mfg. 1861 during the American Civil War. (2) Model 1862 Police: S# 8482. Bbl. 5 1/2” round w/ New York address & cone style sight. Fluted rebated five round cyl. Blue & case colored finish w/ silver finishes brass grip straps. Bbl., frame & grip straps have matching numbers. Wedge has non-matching number “91677”. 1 piece walnut grip. Mfg. 1861 during the American Civil War. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: period style casing w/ fancy brass medallion in lid. Blue cloth fitted interior shows wear & fading. Case contains powder flask, 2 cavity mold, Eley cap tin, case key, round balls & bullets. Also included is a six round package of combustible cartridges mfg. by Gaston Pechholt of Union City, TN. CONDITION: (1) fine. Blued parts retain over 50% lightly faded blue showing edge wear w/ scattered freckling. Frame & loading lever have dark appearance showing visible colors on sides. Grip straps retain over 10% silver finish. Grips show wear & handling marks w/ small chip at toe of left handle. Sound action. Lightly pitted bore retains sound rifling. (2) fine. Bbl. & cyl. retain 40% dull fading blue. Frame, hammer & loading lever have a nice remaining color on their sides. Grip straps show 70% silver finish acquiring a light gray tarnish. Grips show wear, handling marks & dents. Sound mechanics. Bore retains strong rifling. (01-22876/DS). ANTIQUE. $4,000-6,000.
