REVOLVER. Cal. 41 Colt. S# 55846. Bbl. 6". Mfg. 1886. Top of the bbl. is marked with Colt's 2-line address. Metal components exhibit an old reapplied blue finish overall. Frame is mounted with 2-piece Colt checkered brown hard rubber grips. Standard half-moon blade front sight with frame notched rear sight. Original ejector rod housing's threaded "nipple" on bbl. has been removed, with a dovetailed replacement. CONDITION: metal components retain fair amounts of their reapplied blue finish, showing areas of wear fading to gray patina, with light to mild surface oxidation present overall. Ejector rod housing shows a small cracking stemming from the screw slot to the tip. Bore exhibits consistent mild to moderate pitting while retaining good to strong rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics, with slight cyl. play. Grips show some smoothing and superficial marks from handling and storage, with the right panel exhibiting a chip along the backstrap. (01-27853/MLW).
