REVOLVER. Cal. 41 Colt. S# 78035. Bbl. 4 1/2". Model 1877 "Thunderer" double action revolver mfg. by Colt in 1890. The left side of the bbl. is marked "COLT. D.A. 41", with Colt's 2-line address marked across the top. Left side of the frame is marked with Colt's 3-line patent information. Metal components exhibit a nickel plated finish, with some small parts and the rear strap of the hammer exhibiting a nitre blue finish. Frame is mounted with 2-piece Colt checkered dark brown hard rubber grips. Half-moon blade front sight with frame V-notch rear sight. Bullseye ejector rod head. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame, trigger guard, rear grip strap, and cyl. CONDITION: metal components retain large amounts of their original factory nickel plated finish, exhibiting scattered spots of bubbling, as well as areas and scattered spots of flaking showing through to gray patina. Some nitre blue parts retain fair amounts of their original finish. Bright bore, exhibiting patches of mild pitting and some concentrated spots of moderate pitting, while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Action is slightly out of time, with the cyl. not indexing fully when action is cycled. Grips show some smoothing, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable.
