Cal. 10ga 2 7/8". S# 1293. Bbls 32" of damascus steel. Fixed FULL/FULL chokes. Cased color boxlock action with fine hand engraving. Right side scene depicts a pointer and two partridge. Left side scene shows a fox and two quail. Scenes are surrounded by arabesque scroll that continues to upper and lower receiver areas as well as forearm iron. Floor plate is engraved "PATENTED AUG. 22. SEP. 19. 1882". Double triggers. Extractors. Ebony tipped splinter forearm and round knob pistol grip stock of fine European walnut with drop points having a German silver presentation plate in toeline. Stock and forearm have point pattern hand checkering with additional checkering on stock ears. LOP: 14 1/8" over an age hardened London style solid red pad. WEIGHT: 9lbs 4.4oz. Total of 7,366 manufactured 1883-95, this gun was produced in 1885. CONDITION: bbl finish is fading to gray with small marks showing good damascus pattern in forward sections. Action retains small amounts of lightly visible case colors in protected areas. Stocks have moderately worn finish and checkering with scratches and small dents. Recoil pad is cracked at base with partially missing pad from age related cracking. Action is tight with lever sitting slightly right of center. Good bright bores. (01-26890/DS).
