This standard production example was made in 1911, the same year the .45 was adopted by the U.S. military. It has a half-moon front sight and a "U" notch drift adj. rear sight. Left side of slide marked with a 2-line address referencing patent, mfg., and location in Hartford, CT. Rampant Colt behind slide serrations. On the right side of the slide is Colt's reference to the caliber .38. Full S# appears on the left side of the frame along the with inspector proof on upper trigger guard. Fitted with standard Colt hard rubber grips molded with the word "COLT" and the encircled Rampant Colt logo in the center of a bordered checkered field. Bottom mag. release. Mag. with 6 transverse indicator holes and fixed floorplate marked "P.K.T./ COLT/ .38 CAL". MAGS: 1 7-rd. CONDITION: G-VG with approx. 60% original finish, the rest involved by carry wear, toning, and areas of patchy etching; the front of the trigger guard, the front of the back straps having toned to a mellow brown. The right grip having a 1.5" repaired crack that extends through the lower escutcheon to the bottom of the grip. Mag with moderate insertional wear. Bright bore. Correct manual mechanics.
