Cal. 38 Colt. S# 10138. A desirable variation of the New Army & New Navy revolvers serial numbered from 10,001 to 10,926. This scarce revolver lacks the USMC marking & sequence number normally found on the butt of Marine Corp. issued revolvers. Bbl. 6" w/ blade sight & Hartford address. Six shot fluted cyl. Blue finish w/ polished hammer sides. Left side of frame has rampant colt marking. 2 piece checkered walnut round butt grips. Lanyard ring is removed w/ plug installed. CONDITION: about 95% blue showing muzzle & edge wear w/ a cyl. drag line. Grips show light finish & checkering wear w/ handling marks. Bore is bright w/ strong rifling showing some spots of light pitting. PROVENANCE: The Collection of Edward Scott Meadows. (24-729). CURIO. $2,500-3,500.
