Cal. 45 Colt. S# 52622. Bbl. 5 1/2" with 2 line Hartford address. 6 Shot long flute cylinder. Sideplate is Rampant Colt marked. Blue finish with polished hammer sides. 2 Piece smooth walnut grips. Right panel is stamped "ILL". Butt of gun is marked "U.S.N. / (navy anchor) / 45 DA" above lanyard loop and "No. / 622" below lanyard loop. The Navy model was the smallest production run of 1909 variations with only 1,000 produced. This revolver mfg. 1911. CONDITION: 70% lightly faded blue showing significant edge and carry wear with scattered spots of surface corrosion. Front sight is hand filed to create a bead at top. Grips have age darkened appearance showing wear with scattered dents and marks. Sound mechanics. Lightly pitted bore retains sound rifling. (22-4263/DS). CURIO. $2,500-4,000.
