Cal. 38 Colt. SN. 2642. Bbl. 6". 6 shot fluted cyl. Blue finish w/ polished hammer sides. Left side of frame has "R.A,C," sub inspector marking. 2 piece walnut grips. Butt is fitted with lanyard loop & marked "U. S. / ARMY / MODEL / 1894". UNATTACHED ACC: Colt Archives properties letter dated May 18, 2020. "As described in the enclosed archive letter, this revolver was originally a Model of 1892. It is of interest to note that a number of earlier model year revolvers were later refurbished and upgraded to later year model specifications by Colt. However, Colt factory shipping ledgers contain only a small percentage of these refurbishing records, and serial number 2642 is not contained within these ledgers.
