FACTORY LETTER. Cal. 32. S# 6291. Bbl. 3 1/2". New Pocket double action revolver mfg. by Colt in 1894. Left side of the bbl. is marked "COLT D.A. 32", with Colt's 3-line address and patent information marked across the top towards the breech. Left side of the frame is marked with the Rampant Colt logo surmounted by "*COLT'S*/ NEW POCKET". Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, with the trigger and rear strap of the hammer exhibiting a nitre blue finish. Sides of the hammer are polished in-the-white. Frame is mounted with 2-piece "COLT" checkered black hard rubber grips. Standard fixed half-moon blade front sight and frame notched rear sight. All serialized parts match the frame via "291" and include the frame (interior) and cyl. crane. Grips match the frame via "291", which is lightly etched on the interior of the panels. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Colt factory letter stating: "Serial Number: 6291/ Caliber: .32/c S&H/ Barrel Length: 3 1/2"/ Finish: Blue/ Type of Stocks: Not Listed/ Shipped To: Powell & Clement Co./ Address: Cincinnati, OH/ Date of Shipment: September 26, 1894/ Number of Same Type Guns in Shipment: 5". CONDITION: metal components retain large amounts of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting areas of wear and thinning that are fading to gray and brown patinas, some scattered superficial handling marks, as well as scattered spots of light surface oxidation overall. Rear grip strap has faded to a mottled gray patina. Bright bore, exhibiting scattered spots and small patches of light to mild pitting, while retaining strong rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Grips show light smoothing and some superficial handling marks, with the left panel exhibiting a repaired chip at the bottom left corner. (01-28755/MLW). ANTIQUE. $300-500.
