HOLSTER. Cal. 44-40. S# 16063. Bbl. 7 1/2". New Service double action revolver mfg. by Colt in 1906. Let side of the bbl. is marked "NEW SERVICE 44-40", with Colt's 2-line mfg. and patent information marked across the top. Left side of the frame is marked with the Rampant Colt logo between "(MALTESE CROSS) COLT'S (MALTESE CROSS)/ NEW SERVICE". Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, save for on the sides of the hammer, which are polished in-the-white. Frame is mounted with 2-piece stag grips, featuring a lanyard swivel and ring on the butt. Standard clipped blade front sight and frame notched rear sight. Matching numbers are present on the frame and cyl. crane. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: brown leather holster marked "WM.R.BURKHARD/ SPORTING/ GOODS/ ST. PAUL. MINN" on the closure flap, with "308" marked on the rear of the belt loop. CONDITION: metal components retain good amounts of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting areas of wear and thinning that are fading to gray patina, scattered superficial handling marks, as well as scattered spots of light surface oxidation overall. Grip straps have faded to a mottled gray patina. Bore is bright, exhibiting some scattered spots of light to mild pitting, while retaining strong rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Grips exhibit an aged yellow appearance, but otherwise remain sound. Holster remains malleable, exhibiting scattered spots/areas of age related cracking and crazing. (25-5053/MLW). CURIO. $800-1,200.
