Cal. 45 LC. S# 305681. Bbl. 7 1/2" w/ elevation adj. blued bead (not patridge) front sight blade & corresponding windage adj. frame mounted rear. Mfg.1919 (1898-1944) w/ mixture of improved & standard features. Early checkered squared cyl. latch & leaf spring for hammer & trigger. Floating firing pin, knurled ejector rod head plus checkered grip straps, trigger face & hammer spur. Checkered walnut grips w/ scallop & diamond borders plus silver Colt medallions. Similar to Shooting Master model (3500 mfg. 330,000-350,000) but earlier production w/ longer bbl. (6" for Master). CONDITION: very light thinning at muzzle (mostly left side); extremely faint beginning thinning at various high points. Right side of frame behind recoil shield has 2 bright spots & some stain like appearing peppery oxidation spots. Very slight spots of staining on sides of hammer. Balance of metal finish close to near excellent & certainly collector quality. Near excellent bore, grips & chambers w/ close to unfired appearance having no internal frame residue plus clean unmarked recoil shield face & face of cyl. Smooth early Colt workmanship.
