WITH HOLSTER. Cal. 38 New Police (.38 Colt Police Positive). S# 177508. Bbl. 4". Police Positive .38 double action revolver mfg. by Colt in 1928. Left side of the bbl. is marked with the model and cal. designations, with Colt's 2-line mfg. and patent information marked across the top. Left side of the frame is marked with the Rampant Colt logo. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, save for on the sides of the hammer, which are polished in-the-white. Frame is mounted with 2-piece Colt silver medallion checkered wood grips. Standard fixed half-moon blade front sight and frame notched rear sight. Cyl. ejector rod head is absent. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Bucheimer black leather holster. CONDITION: metal components retain large amounts of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting areas of wear and thinning fading to gray patina, as well as scattered spots of areas of light oxidation and pitting. Left side of bbl. exhibits remnants of a patch of apparent black enamel paint. Sides of hammer have faded to a gray patina. Bore is bright, exhibiting a consistent scattering of light to mild pitting, while retaining strong rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Grips show heavy smoothing and scattered marks from handling and storage, with the right panel exhibiting a deep impression and a crack in the corresponding area. Holster remains malleable, exhibiting scattered handling marks, as well as areas of age related cracking and some crazing. (26-3003/MLW). CURIO. $250-350.
