BOX & FACTORY LETTER. Cal 22 LR. S# 51272. Bbl 6 5/8". Pre-Woodsman semi-automatic pistol manufactured by Colt in 1926. The barrel is stamped with Colt's 2 line address over the top, with "COLT" followed by the caliber designation and the Rampant Colt logo marked on the left side of the slide. Metal components exhibit a blued finish, with the frame being mounted with 2 piece checkered walnut grips. Patridge front sight, with adjustable U-notch rear sight. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Colt factory letter indicating that this example was manufactured on December 9th of 1926 and was 1 of 8 pistols shipped to Honeyman Hardware Company in Portland, OR on December 14th of 1926. Pistol is accompanied by a period factory box containing its matching factory paper test target, manual, and instruction pamphlet.. CONDITION: metal components retain the vast majority of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting some superficial marks from handling and storage, with unusual small scattered nicks present along the front grip strap and trigger guard. Mirror bore, exhibiting well defined rifling throughout. Grips show some mild smoothing, but are otherwise very good. Box exhibits wear, with losses to its black exterior and edges, with some tearing at the corners. (23-1742/MLW). CURIO. $800-1,200.
