DALE ROBERTSON IN "TALES OF WELLS FARGO". 1) COLT SAA REVOLVER. Cal. 38 WCF. S# 229575. Bbl. 4 3/4" w/ Hartford address. Six-shot fluted cyl. Bottom of the frame above S# is stamped "S", identifying this revolver as the property of the Stembridge gun rental company, which supplied firearms to filmmakers. "Hollywood" simulated stag grips, which were widely used in the motion picture industry. Frame & grip straps have matching numbers. Loading gate is marked w/ assembly number 860. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: a notarized letter signed by Dale Robertson and dated October 21, 2001. The letter identifies this revolver as being a studio gun from the personal collection of Dale Robertson. Also included is a photo of Dale Robertson w/ this revolver and two other photos. The brass Wells Fargo & Co. belt buckle featuring an American eagle & thirteen stars is marked "Tiffany & Co." on the back. An iron "WF" Wells Fargo branding iron measuring 18 1/2" in length. Hang tag that was on the shotgun detailing S#. CONDITION: gun retains over 90% of its reblued finish. Bbl. markings are thinned. Action shows wear. The dark, lightly pitted bore retains good rifling. (23-5442/DS). CURIO. 2) BELGIAN HAMMER SXS SHOTGUN. Cal. 12 Ga., 2 3/4". S# 22240 (Stembridge # 9471-1243). The 18 1/2" barrels have Mod chokes. Rebounding hammer action with Belgian proofs on water tables & double triggers. Floorplate stamped "S", identifying this shotgun as a property of Stembridge. Walnut splinter forearm & round knob pistol grip stock. Left side of the buttstock is stamped "WF & CO. / EXP. / 147". LOP: 13 1/2" to steel buttplate. CONDITION: barrels have traces of blue mixed with brown/gray patina and areas of oxidation. Action has a brown/gray patina with oxidation. Wood has a well-worn finish with smooth checkering.
