Cal. 45 ACP. S# 38563. Bbl 5 1/2". U.S. Army Model of 1917 revolver manufactured by Colt in 1919. Left side of barrel is stamped with the caliber designation, with Colt's 2 line address over the top and "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" on the underside. Left side of frame bears the Rampant Colt logo, with the military designation and serial number "38563" stamped on the butt. Metal components exhibit an arsenal reapplied blue finish, with the frame being mounted with 2 piece Colt black checkered hard rubber grips. Matching assembly number "1645" is present on the interior of the frame, as well as on the left side of the barrel beneath the caliber designation. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their arsenal reapplied blue finish, exhibiting some wear and thinning that shows through to gray patina, as well as some scattered superficial marks from handling and storage. Brilliant mirror bore, exhibiting well defined rifling throughout. Grips exhibit some smoothing and scattered marks from handling and storage, with the right panel exhibiting a loss on the butt.
