Cal. 45 ACP. S# 60379. 5 1/2". US Model of 1917 double action revolver manufactured by Colt. The left side of the barrel is stamped "COLT D.A. 45", with Colt's 2 line address across the top and "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" on the underside. Left side of frame bears the Rampant Colt logo and "JMG" (John Gilbert) inspector proof. Metal components exhibit a blued finish, with the frame being mounted with 2 piece smooth wood grips. Underside of right grip panel is carved with an "X". Factory matching numbers are present on the interior of the frame, on the cylinder crane, and are handwritten in pencil on the interior of the grip panels. CONDITION: good overall, with metal components retaining the majority of their original arsenal blue finish, exhibiting some scattered areas of wear and thinning that lightly shows through to gray patina, some spots mild surface oxidation, as well as some scattered superficial marks from handling and storage. Very bright bore, exhibiting some areas of very light pitting and retaining strong rifling throughout. Grips show some scattered marks from handling and storage, but are otherwise good.
