Cal. 42. NSN. 12" Overall. Bbl. 6 1/4" 2 stage brass oct. to rnd. tapered brass w/ cannon muzzle signed on top flat in script “C. WELSHEN”. Lock markings not discernible. Pistol is brass mounted w/ moldings, 2 sm. silver inset hearts in rear beaver tails either side. Stock is painted w/ a red lacquer or varnish. Crossed arrows are engraved on sideplate. CONDITION: good to very good overall as assembled, brass has mixed mustard patinas w/ red discoloration to rnd. portion of bbl. Markings on lock, bbl., & sideplate may have been added later. Small crack in bbl. at muzzle face. Mechanically functional w/ clear smooth bore. PROVENANCE: From the Collection of John "Tim" Breth Jr. (01-17769/JS). ANTIQUE. $2,000-3,000.
