41” Overall, 34.5” unstopped fuller w/ distinct 2.5” ricasso. This Confederate copy model 1860 light cavalry saber are attributed to Louis Froelich of his Confederate States Armory, Kenansville, NC or Boyle & Gamble, Richmond, VA. This is fine survivor w/ soldier’s initials “WMB” scratched between ring mounts. The unique brass scabbard is lap seamed braised & soldered, flat squared iron drag, pinned flanged brass throat, all the characteristics are found on Froelich cavalry sabers. You will not find a better looking brass scabbard NC-VA saber. CONDITION: very good-fine as grip leather finely restored by master Jim Brown. Smooth gray blade w/ staining, brass hilt & scabbard have toned copper/mustard patinas. (02-17549/JS). $4,000-6,000.
