CARTRIDGE POUCH. Pouch measures 7 1/2" x 4 1/2" x 1 3/4". A rare Civil War period English made Confederate cartridge pouch produced by the firm S. Isaac Campbell & Co. of London. The pouch was worn on a waist belt & supported by two 3/4" leather loops on the reverse. The outer flap closed by use of a leather billet that fit over a brass finial at the base of the box. An inner flap closed by means of gravity & was secured by closing the outer flap. The tin liner has 1 single compartment. The box is clearly stamped on the inside of the outer flap, just below the stitching on the closing tab, “S ISAAC CAMPBELL & CO 71 JERMYN ST LONDON” inside a tombstone shaped border. CONDITION: box is in superb condition showing only light wear throughout & no breaks or losses. (02-13498-2/BF). $3,500-5,000.
