23 1/2" Overall, 18" slightly wasp waist dbl. edged blade. This particular pattern w/ concentric rings is often thought to have been made by W. J. McElroy of Macon, Georgia due to their similarity in hilt design to products of E. J. Johnston also of Macon, Georgia. There are no maker marked specimens known. CONDITION: good to very good overall, blade shows forging flaws w/ one lg. longitudinal flaw filled w/ lead which is unique to Confederate manufacture. Blade is heavily sharpened. Grip has mixed olive/mustard patina. (02-15793/JS). $1,000-2,000.
