COMMEMORATIVE SINGLE ACTION ARMY REVOLVERS WITH FACTORY DISPLAY CASES & BOXES. Both: Cal. 45 Colt. S# (1.) JCWC0669 (2.) JCWC0668. Bbls. 4 3/4". Single Action Army revolvers mfg. by Colt commemorating John Wayne. Left side of the bbls. feature a gold patriotic eagle holding a banner that reads "JOHN" and "WAYNE", with Colt's single line address stamped across the top, and scroll engraving present on the right. Top of ejector rod housings exhibit a gold wavy line and dot design. Left side of the frames is marked with gold highlighted "PAT. SEPT 19, 1871/ July 2, 72 JAN 19, 75", followed by a gold Rampant Colt logo and small section of scroll engraving, with additional scroll engraving on the right sides. Cyls. features a gold rope band at the front and rear, with a gold portrait of John Wayne, as well as a gold and engraved scene of John Wayne on horseback. Rear grip straps are marked with John Wayne's "D" logo and signature in gold. Metal components exhibit a dark blue finish overall. Sides are hammers are polished in-the-white. Frames are mounted with 2-piece smooth natural white grips. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: each revolver is accompanied by an original factory box and wood display case. Display cases feature a commemorative plaque on the interior and contain a single key per case. This pair is also accompanied by a Colt John Wayne Commemorative congratulatory letter. CONDITION: near new, with metal components retaining virtually all of their original factory blue finish overall. Mirror bores, exhibiting a thin layer of grease, while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Actions have not been tested, but are presumed to be ensuite with external condition. Grips are excellent. Display cases are very good overall, with some minor marks from handling and storage. Boxes show some exterior wear, with 1 exhibiting taped repairs.
