BOLT-ACTION MILITARY RIFLE. Cal. 30-06. S# 4797175. Bbl. 24. Marked behind front sight "SC / flaming bomb / 10-43". Adjustable aperture rear sight graduated to 800 yards. Front sight blade has been replaced by Lyman white bead sporting type. Bolt is marked on top with "X". Safety lug is the scalloped type. Marked underneath with "1". Safety lug has relief cut similar to Remington. Correct scalloped bolt shroud. Unmarked cutoff. All stamped furniture including square checkered trap buttplate and correct Smith Corona large bow trigger guard. Walnut stock set. Straight grip buttstock is marked on left side with boxed "FJA" and "crossed cannons". Forend tip marked with "2" and "E". Stock is fitted with two reinforcing pins. Encircled "P" proof under grip. Four distinct assembly numbers appear in-front of trigger guard. Brown leather military style sling. CONDITION: rifle has a very good appearance with crisp legible markings. Stock set has very light wear with a few scattered small handling marks. Metal retains 90% of its original parkerized and blue finishes with very light wear. Very good shiny bore with sharp lands.
