PERCUSSION NAVY REVOLVER. Cal. 36. S# 1226. This is a stunning fancy engraved revolver with gold inlays and fanciful presentation on backstrap. This revolver manufactured in 1861 has been totally refinished with custom engraving, gold inlaid relief portrait of Samuel colt on the left barrel lug, fancifully inscribed on grip frame: "To H E Dimick St. Louis, Mo. from Sam Colt". Standard configuration 1861 Navy revolver, 7.5" barrel, "Sam'l Colt" inset in gold script on top, smooth elephant tusk grips. Modern mahogany compartmented casing houses revolver, reproduction navy sized eagle flask, engraved and reblued "COLTS PATENT" 2-cavity mold army mold, and modern cap tin. CONDITION: excellent as customized, retains almost all of the bright blue and case color finish. Backstrap and trigger guard retain virtually all of their custom gold plating.
