RIFLE. Cal. 30-06. S# 406298. Bbl. 24 1/4". Model 1895 lever action rifle, mfg. by Winchester in 1922. Left side of the replacement bbl. is marked "CAL 30-06". Left side of the rear sight assembly is marked with the Lyman logo and Lyman's patent information, with the left side of the receiver exhibiting Winchester's mfg. and patent information. Metal components exhibit a reapplied blue finish overall. Wood straight grip buttstock and schnabel tip forend appear to have been lightly sanded and revarnished at one time. Contemporary brass beaded blade front sight. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: brown leather sling. CONDITION: metal components retain bountiful amounts of their reapplied blue finish, exhibiting a layer of grease, with scattered spots of pitting present beneath the finish overall. Mirror bore, exhibiting well-defined rifling throughout. Wood furniture shows scattered marks and impressions from handling and storage. Left side of the forend exhibits a repaired crack, with the left side of the buttstock exhibiting some chipping at the receiver.
