CARBINE. Cal. 8x50R. S# 7244x. Bbl. 19". Blade front sight. Ladder rear sight graduated to 2400 Schritt. All visible matching numbers. Receiver top has "STEYR/M95" marking. Bbl. has Austrian "W-N 20" 1920 & Czech "(Lion) 23" 1923 acceptance stamps. Hardwood stock set with left side & bottom mounted sling provisions & leather sling. Buttplate tang has unit marking that reads "51D/2.44". UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: worn 1935 dated pack of Czech made 8x50 ammo that contains about 220 rds. CONDITION: stock set shows a tight split behind upper tang, some scattered dings, finish wear & handling marks. Metal is mostly a silvery-gray color with a few spots of pitting, some traces of bluing, handling marks & scattered oxidation. Action functions properly when hand cycled. Bore is mostly bright with some light pitting & frosting but strong rifling. (25-5076/MJC). CURIO. $500-1500.
