Cal. 7.62x39. S# 5801772. Bbl. 16". Designed in 1958, the VZ58 rifle is a gas operated select fire weapon that replaced the Czech Model 52 & model 24 machine guns in the Czech Army. Though often misidentified as a variant of the AK-47, there are several distinct differences visible even at distance. They would include a signature red tinted bakelite furniture. Several Czech offerings sport a light black to dark gray high luster finish on all exposed metal surfaces. This rifle has the correct grey finish. The locking system of the VZ58 shares characteristics w/ the P.38. Protected post front sight. Tangent leaf rear sight graduated to 800 meters. Left side black canvas sling. MAGS: 1 factory 30rd. CONDITION: Finish on exposed surfaces is complete & consistent, with very few signs of use, aside from the front sight assembly which retains a thin spot of thinning on top. Bright bore w/ strong rifling. Fire control mechanism appears to function correctly when cycled by hand. (25-2284/JZ). MODERN. $800-1,200.
