SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL WITH DESIRABLE HOLSTER. Cal. 9mm Bergmann. S# 11111. Bbl. 4". Model 1910 Bergmann Bayard semi-automatic pistol mfg. in Belgium by Anciens Etablissements Pieper under contract for Denmark. The left side of the of the bbl. extension is marked "BREVETE./ S.G.D.G.", followed by "ANCIENS ETABLISSEMENTS PIEPER./ HERSTAL-LIEGE./ BERGMANN'S PATENT", with the right side exhibiting assorted Belgian commercial proofs, which are also present on the right side of the bbl. and on the top of the bolt. Right side of the frame is marked with the Danish army S# "3696", with the underside of the frame marked with the full S# "11111". Metal components exhibit a rust blue finish overall, with some small parts exhibiting a straw finish. Bolt, firing pin, locking block, and hammer are polished in-the-white. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered wood grips. Fixed blade front sight, fixed V-notch rear sight. Nearly all serialized parts are matching and include the frame, slide, rear sight, bolt, locking and locking block. Grips are matching via the full S# on the interior of the panels, which has been over stamped above their previous S#s. Firing pin is mismatched (S# 713). MAGS: 1 matching 6-rd. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: brown leather Danish holster marked with a Danish Crown/11 on the front of the closure flap. Holster retains its cleaning rod, and it fitted with a brown leather shoulder strap. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their original blue finish, exhibiting some areas of wear and thinning that show through to gray patina, scattered spots of light surface oxidation, as well as scattered superficial marks from handling and storage. Fair bore, exhibiting consistent mild to moderate pitting and a spot of dark pitting, while retaining strong rifling throughout. Strawed parts retain traces of their original finish. Firing pin retention pin exhibits a large chip on the rim. Grips show scattered superficial marks and impressions from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable. Holster remains malleable, exhibiting wear, with varying degrees of age related cracking and crazing present overall. Shoulder strap remains malleable, exhibiting varying degrees of age related cracking and crazing overall, with the buckle exhibiting moderate pitting. (24-6969/MLW). CURIO. $2,500-3,500.
