Cal. 9x63 (original 8.8X57MM). S# 3289. After the 1918 Armistice, Danzig attempted to produce sporting rifles to support as many jobs; mfg. approx. 1919 or 1920. After the Treaty of Versailles, The Danzig arsenal & others throughout the German Empire were decommissioned. Bbl. 24" w/ ramp mounted bead & replacement 2 leaf rear sight. Claw mount scope w/ German post reticle numbered "5675"; mounting block matching numbered. Bolt has added hand jeweling. Dbl. set triggers. Matching numbered Schnabel tipped rnd. knob pistol grip stock w/ cheekpiece & sling stud. LOP: 14 1/8" to buttplate. CONDITION: metal has brown patina w/ peppery oxidation throughout. Wood has fair worn finish & checkering along w/ a few gouges & marks. Good bore w/ strong rifling showing light frosting. Scope has fair black finish w/ cloudy optics.
