Cal. 41 short RF. S# 4576. Bbl. matching numbered 2 1/2" w/ forward facing arrow on top & Williamson's markings on left side. Mfg. 1866-1870 in Brooklyn, NY. Although seen w/ S# up to 20000 expert estimates are less than 10000. Brass frame & trigger guard having silver plating & scroll engraving. Nitre blued hammer, trigger & bbl. latch. Plated bbl. w/ appearance of nickel. Checkered walnut grip patterned in Henry Deringer style. Loading accomplished by sliding bbl. forward allowing use of cartridge or percussion w/ extra insert. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: percussion adapter (possible reproduction). CONDITION: very good to excellent appearance w/ some silver flaking off from frame at very front, edges of trigger guard by trigger, edges by bbl. & lower part of back strap. Bbl. finish near excellent. All plated areas appear would benefit from quality polish. Very nice Nitre bluing. Very good to excellent stock w/ very light occasional handling marks. Good to very good bore w/ areas of cleaned pitting. Fine functioning mechanics. (01-22340/NW). ANTIQUE. $700-1,000.
