28 BORE O/U EJECTOR DOUBLE TRIGGER GAME GUN. Cal. 28 Ga. 2-3/4". S# 17041 (1938). The 23" demi-bloc barrels are fitted with matted solid rib and are engraved "Abercrombie & Fitch Co. New-York" on left side of top barrel. Bottom barrel is stamped with 1938 Belgian nitro proofs for 28 Ga. and Francotte crowned "AF" initials. Case hardened small size O/U double Kirsten boxlock action features non-automatic safety and double triggers. Action is engraved with 70% coverage attractive simple scroll. Floorplate is engraved "MADE IN BELGIUM". Top lever, floorplate and trigger guard are blued. S# is on trigger guard tang. Straight grip buttstock of lightly figured European walnut measures 14-1/4" over ribbed horn buttplate. Point pattern checkering is at grip and a vacant silver oval is on toeline. Matching three piece slim ejector forend has Deeley release. MEASUREMENTS: BBLS: Bore Diameter: O .557. U .550. Restriction: O .009 (Mod). U .003 (IC). STOCK: DAH: 2-1/2". DAC: 1-1/2". CAST: neutral. LOP: 14-1/4". WEIGHT: 5 lb. 0 oz. CONDITION: exceptionally fine. Barrels retaining nearly all original blue with some sharp edge wear noted on rib. Action rates well over 80% with loss due to handling with silvering on bottom. Top lever and floorplate retain nearly all of their original blue. Blue of trigger guard shows considerable flaking and rates about 20%. Stocks retain nearly all of their original oil finish with some handling marks. Checkering is dark and shows very light wear.
