SINGLE ACTION REVOLVERS. Although Henry Deringer died in 1868, his relatives continued with the manufacture of cartridge revolvers for a few years. 1) Deringer Second Model Pocket Revolver. Cal. 22 short. S# 2967. 3" round bbl. with rib & semi-circular sight. Round 7 shot short fluted cylinder. Bbl. tips-up for loading. Spur trigger. Nickel finish. 2pc birds head grips. Approximately 6500 mfg. 1873-1879. CONDITION: over 60% nickel showing handling marks with dark spots of finish loss at breech end of bbl. Grip finish shows blistering. Action binds when bbl. is in closed position. Dark lightly pitted bore. 2) Deringer 1st Model Pocket Revolver. Cal. 22 short. S# 513. 3" octagon bbl. with rib & semi-circular sight. Round 7 shot cylinder. Spur trigger. Nickel finish. 2pc walnut birds head grips. Approximately 400 mfg. 1873-1879. CONDITION. over 75% nickel showing areas of peeling with scattered handling marks. Refinished grips are slightly under size. Sound action. Dark bore showing some pitting. 3) Smith & Wesson No. Third Issue Revolver. Cal. 22 short. S# 93811. 3 3/16" bbl. with rib & semi-circular sight. Fluted 7 shot cylinder. Spur trigger. Nickel finish. Rosewood 2pc birds head grips. Approximately 131.163 mfg. 1868-1881. CONDITION: over 60% nickel showing spotted flaking, corrosion & fine pitting. Original grip finish shows areas of peeling. Sound action. Dark lightly pitted bore. 4) Smith & Wesson No. 1 Second Issue Revolver. Cal. 22 short. S# 93115. 3 3/16" octagon bbl. with rib & semi-circular sight. Round 7 shot cylinder. Blued bbl. with silver finished brass frame. Spur trigger. Rosewood 2pc square butt grips. About 117,000 mfg. 1860-1868. CONDITION: Bbl. & cyl. has faded gray appearance. Action retains over 75% silver with some areas having a pleasing dark tarnish. Grips show wear & handling marks. Left panel is chipped at the toe. The action exhibits looseness at the hinge. The cyl. does not rotate properly when the action is cycled. Dark lightly pitted bore. (01-28861/DS). ALL ANTIQUE. $1,000-1,500.
