GAME SHOTGUN WITH BULINO GAME SCENE AND SCROLL BY PATELLI WITH CASE. Cal. 20 Ga. S# 1871. These lovely little guns are no longer produced. This example has beautifully struck 28" chopper lump barrels with slightly raised flat matted rib. Tops of barrels are engraved "Flli RIZZINI" "MAGNO V.T." Barrel flats are stamped with 1984 Italian nitro proofs for 2 3/4" chambers. Coin finished ogee backed boxlock action features non automatic safety and single non selective trigger. Unique to this model, floorplate is easily removed for inspection and cleaning, with a thumb latch at forward part. Action is engraved with about 80% coverage small scroll with rose bouquet highlights. This well cut scroll surrounds bulino scene on floorplate of capercaillie perched on pine bow overlooking a glen. Other large trees and hills are in background. Engravers signature, "Patelli", is at lower right of scene. This signature also appears on trigger plate after "Inc" denoting that he was also responsible for the scroll, which also appears on trigger guard along with S#. Very finely marbled and well figured flesh toned European walnut straight grip buttstock measures 14 1/2" over fully checkered wood butt. Very well cut, closely spaced, borderless point pattern checkering is at grip. Small beavertail ejector forend has Anson release. MEASUREMENTS: BBLS: Bore Diameter: L .034". R .060". Restriction: L .012" (mod). R .000" (cyl). Wall thickness: L .631". R .630". STOCK: DAH: 2". DAC: 1 7/16". CAST: about 1/2" off. LOP: 14 1/2". WEIGHT: 6 lb. 2 oz. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: gun is housed in brown leather case with stitched leather corners by Nizzoli. Case is lined in dark olive felt, and has brown leather Rizzini label stitched into lid. Bottom compartment is semi French fitted for gun and barrels. Case contains proof certificate and key in covered compartment. CONDITION: very fine, with evidence of only very light field use, and very little firing, with only a few very minor small marks on barrels. Coin finish of action is still bright, with little or no evidence of cleaning. There are a few very minor light marks and scratches in wood, mostly on left side of butt. Checkering is still light in color. Mechanically fine. There are a number of marks and scuffs in exterior case leather. Straps and handle are good. Interior is excellent, with some rubs.
