SMALL GAUGE 3 BARREL SET TWO 28 GAUGE AND ONE .410 WITH CASE. Cal. 28 Ga. (2 3/4"), .410 (3"). S# A-1 28-046. This scarce gun; 1 of 150 with standard factory engraving and 1 of 16, 28 Ga./.410 combinations is made with and extra set of short (26") 28 Ga. barrels. First set of 28 Ga. and .410 barrels measure 28". The 28" 28 Ga. barrels (choked Mod. & Full) are stamped "1" on loop, the 26" (Q1 & Q2) "2" and the .410 barrels (IC & Mod.) "3". All numbers match except .410 barrels have 410 prefix. Ribs are marked with Winchester reproduction info and "Made in Japan". Gold lines are inlaid around breech ends which are also embellished with 2 1/2" triangles of scroll engraving. Decorative bands are also around muzzles. Barrel flats are engine turned and stamped with Parker reproduction proofs, chokes, S#'s and Winchester proofs. Frame size "00" is on 28 Ga. barrels and "0000" is on .410 barrels. Case hardened small size Parker action with lightening cuts in watertable features automatic safety ("SAFE" inlaid in gold) and gold plated single selective trigger with checkered finger blade. Action is well filed with 3 beads around fences, but no special treatment is given to juncture of bottom and sides. Action is engraved in standard late A-1 special pattern with near full coverage of well cut shaded scroll within scroll and geometric borders. This scroll surrounds scenes of dogs on sides. A pair of pointers are on left and setters on right. "Parker Bros" is in gold under each dog scene. A pointer and setter are on bottom of action and a spaniel retrieving a dove is on trigger plate. Blued top lever has filed in chevron and thumb piece is pierced and carved with scrolls. Trigger guard has two piercings in bow which is engraved with flying woodcock, flanked by scroll. S# is in gold on tang. Straight grip buttstock of somewhat figured and lightly marbled European walnut measures 14 1/4" over skeleton steel buttplate. Central wood is checkered with fleur de lis intrusion. Side panels with fleur de lis drop points are recessed around large relief carved fleur de lis and are nicely checkered. Grip checkering is of classic A-1 special style with fancy outline and flares toward comb. 28 Ga. barrels share one splinter forend, .410 barrels have their own which has "410" prefix which matches number on barrels. Forend irons are engine turned. Fleur de lis checkering matches buttstock. MEASUREMENTS: DAH: 2 3/8". DAC: 1 5/16". CAST: approx. 1/2" off. LOP: 14 1/4". WEIGHT: 6 lb. 6 oz. Checkering is crisp and bright. Bores are bright and shiny. Gun was not tested for functioning so not to cause any wear or possible marking. (.410 barrels assembled for photo & measurement.)
