PARTS KIT. This parts kit from a MKII Bren Gun includes the butt slide as mentioned in the original manual. Attached to the slide are the walnut buttstock assembly w/ recoil springs & operating rod, sling swivel on the left side and mount for the rear grip, which is not present. Hardwood pistol grip. Safety, trigger & front latch are all present. There are three piston & breech block assemblies. The breech blocks & pistons have various electro-penciled numbers & serial numbers. Breech blocks are complete w/ firing pins. Late type non-adjustable bipod assembly is present. Bipod marked only w/ "J1". Included are three of the late production bbls. w/ integral flash hider. Two of the gas regulators are complete. One is lacking the adjustment drum. Barrels are complete w/ wooden carry handles w/ the exception of the attaching screw, which is missing on one bbl. The bbls. measure 25" overall including flash hider. Sliding mag. cover & mag. latch are present. MAGS: 2 detachable 30 rd., one is unmarked w/ dark phosphate finish. One is marked on floorplate "I star JI". Tan web sling w/ snap hook. Parts are contained in a wooden chest with rope handles. The chest measures approx. 49"x7" by 12" tall & is fitted to contain a Bren Gun w/ its spare bbl. CONDITION: the butt slide, buttstock & pistol grip assembly have moderate wear to their original finish. Wood parts have staining & handling marks. Buttstock has dovetailed repair at the top forward end of the grip. Buttstock is not seated fully against the receiver. Recoil springs work freely. Trigger & safety parts appear serviceable. Bbls. have wear & handling marks throughout. Two bores are very shiny w/ sharp lands. The third bbl. w/ the unattached wooden hand grip has worn lands w/ frosted grooves. The three bores & piston assemblies have moderate wear & fine pitting. The piston heads have varying degrees of wear & light pitting. Mags., though worn, appear to be in serviceable condition. Bipod is in good serviceable condition w/ spots of light oxidation. Chest has well-worn appearance w/ multiple coats of green paint which are now thinning & flaking. Markings & attached markings labels are largely illegible. The paper labels appear to have Greek lettering. (02-24018/RW). NON-GUN. $400-600.
