STRIP. Circa 1960. As stated in affixed strip on 1st panel reading "Tm. Reg. U. S. Pat. Off.-All Rights Reserved / Copr. 1960 by United Feature Syndicate Inc.". First 2 panels are divided vertically from last 2 panels with fold mark. 3rd panel "9-16" in hand of artist, 4th panel signed "Schulz" in artist hand above a rectangular area of white which was applied to the page. Housed in a gesso molded silvered wood frame of the period. The consignor had been gifted this Peanuts strip by her aunt Thelma Petz. According to family history, Thelma was in the hospital for a while after a knee surgery; a relative of Charles Schulz that was his niece or one of Schulz's children was her nurse who apparently liked Thelma and told Schulz about her. Schulz autographed the strip at the top of one of the panels and wished Thelma a speedy recovery. Over the years the inked autograph faded almost completely away, you can now just barely see some of the letters. SIZE: 7" x 29". Overall 9 1/4" x 31". CONDITION: very good, original condition apart from the text script attached to 1st panel and white at upper right of 4th panel. (02-18003/TG). $10,000-20,000.
