SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL WITH SCARCE DU MOND TARGET BARREL. Cal. 32 ACP. S# 456380. Bbl. 7 1/4". Model 1903 Hammerless semi-automatic pistol mfg. by Colt in 1925 and later fitted with custom 7 1/4" bbl. mfg. by Du Mond. The left side of the slide is marked with Colt's 2-line address referencing mfg. and patent information, followed by the Rampant Colt logo, with "COLT AUTOMATIC/ CALIBRE 32 RIMLESS SMOKELESS" marked on the right. Left side of the bbl. is marked "32/ BARREL BY/ DU MOND". Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall. Frame is mounted with 2-piece Colt silver medallion checkered wood grips. Slide features a standard half-moon blade front sight and dovetailed U-notch rear sight, with the Du Mond bbl. featuring a large ramped fixed blade front sight. Matching numbers are present on the frame and slide, with the slides # being stamped in a stylized font. MAGS: 1 reblued 8-rd. CONDITION: frame and slide retain large amounts of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting wear and thinning fading to gray and brown patinas, with scattered spots of light surface oxidation, as well as spots of light to mild pitting overall. Bbl. retains the vast majority of its original blue finish, showing some very light edge wear and a few superficial handling marks. Very bright bore, exhibiting patches of light pitting, while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Action functions appropriately when cycled by hand. Grips show moderate smoothing, as well as some marks and minor impressions from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable. (25-3456/MLW). CURIO. $1,200-1,800.
