DOUBLE ACTION REVOLVER WITH ROPER GRIPS & SIGHTS. Cal. 38 Spl. S# 619350. Bbl. 6". Officers Model .38 Heavy Barrel double action revolver mfg. by Colt in 1950. Left side of the bbl. is marked "OFFICERS MODEL 38/ HEAVY BARREL" (both lines with Maltese crosses), with Colt's 2-line mfg. and patent information marked across the top. Left side of the frame is marked with the Rampant Colt logo. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, with the top strap of the frame exhibiting a matte blue finish. Sides of hammer are polished in-the-white. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered wood Roper grips. Unmarked Roper adj. patridge blade front sight and Roper adj. square notch rear sight. Checkered trigger and backstrap. Matching numbers are present on the interior of the frame and cyl. crane. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting some light edge wear, freckled spots of oxidative finish loss, as well as scattered spots of light surface oxidation and pitting (predominantly on the frame). Sides of hammer exhibit areas of age related discoloration. Mirror bore, retaining well defined rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Grips show some superficial marks and minor impressions from handling and storage, but otherwise remain very good overall. (25-5097/MLW). CURIO. $1,200-1,800.
