HIGH POWER SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL WITH TANGENT SIGHT. Cal. 9mm Luger. S# 80922. Bbl. 4 5/8". 1 of approx. 27,715 High Power (tangent sight, unslotted) semi-automatic pistols mfg. by Fabrique Nationale while under German occupation between April to December of 1941. The left side of the slide is marked "FABRIQUE NATIONALE D'ARMES DE GUERRE/ HERSTAL BELGIQUE/ BROWNING'S PATENT DEPOSE". Left side of the frame, slide, and bbl. (chamber) exhibit Eagle/WaA103 proofing. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, save for on the bbl., which is polished in-the-white. Unslotted frame is mounted with 2-piece (possibly replacement) checkered wood grips, which feature red anti-moisture barrier paint on the interior of the panels. Dovetailed blade front sight with V-notch tangent rear sight graduated 50-500. All serialized parts are matching in the correct "stacked" fashion, and include the frame, slide, and bbl. MAGS: 1 blued 13-rd. with split tail floorplate, marked with an Eagle/WaA103 on the spine. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their original arsenal blue finish, showing some areas of mild wear and thinning that is fading to gray patina, with scattered superficial marks and scratches present overall. Grip straps show scattered spots of light to mild surface oxidation. Bore is bright, exhibiting consistent light to mild pitting, while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Grips are very good to excellent, with few superficial handling marks. (25-4258/MLW). CURIO. $1,500-2,500.
