LUGER SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL. Cal. 9mm Luger. S# 5102a. Bbl. 4". P.08 Luger semi-automatic pistol clandestinely mfg. by Mauser in 1935. The top of the bbl. extension is marked with a "G" (1935) date code, with early Mauser "B90" and "S91" proofs marked on the right. Toggle is marked with Mauser's "S/42" mfg. code. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, with some small parts including the takedown lever, trigger, mag. release button, safety lever, and ejector exhibiting a straw finish. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered wood grips. Dovetailed blade front sight, with fixed V-notch rear sight. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame, takedown lever, sideplate, trigger, safety lever & bar, hold-open latch, bbl., bbl. extension, trigger bar, breechblock, extractor, firing pin, toggles, rear toggle pin, as well as the grips. MAGS: 1 non-matching (S# 5294a) Eagle/63 proofed 8-rd. CONDITION: very good, with metal components retaining the majority of their original arsenal blue finish, exhibiting some areas of wear and thinning that show through gray patina (primarily on the bbl.), with some spots of light surface oxidation, superficial handling marks, and spots of hardened grease present overall. Grip straps exhibit some areas of light to mild surface oxidation, with some spots of light pitting. Strawed parts are very good, with worn areas showing through to gray patina and some scattered spots of age related discoloration. Mirror bore, exhibiting areas of hardened grease, while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Grips are very good, showing some light smoothing, as well as some scattered nicks to the diamonds from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable.
