BABY SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL WITH BROWNING LEATHERETTE CASE. Cal. 25 ACP. S# 244934. Bbl. 2 1/8". Baby Browning semi-automatic pistol mfg. in Belgium by Fabrique Nationale and imported/retailed by Browning Arms Company in 1961. The left side of the slide is marked "BROWNING ARMS COMPANY/ MADE IN BELGIUM". Right side of the forward trigger guard web, bbl., and front face of the slide exhibit Belgian commercial proofs, with the bbl. also exhibiting the cal. designation. Underside of mag. floorplate is etched "W9189". Frame and slide feature floral and vine Renaissance engraving. Metal components exhibit a French gray finish overall, save for on the bbl., which is polished in-the-white, as well as the trigger, which exhibits a gold plated finish. Frame is mounted with 2-piece smooth faux pearl grips. Slide features a grooved matte rib, with a diminutive fixed blade front sight and fixed V-notch rear sight. All serialized parts are matching, with the slide matching via the last 4-digits the of S# and the bbl. matching via the full S#. MAGS: 1 6-rd. mag. that appears to have been refinished at one time. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: dark blue leatherette wrapped factory case, marked with the Browning trademark logo on the exterior of the lid. Interior of case features a dark blue felt lining, with the interior of the lid featuring a blue fabric lining marked "Made in Belgium". CONDITION: very good to excellent, with metal components retain bountiful amounts of their original French gray finish overall. Gold plating on trigger shows areas of bubbling and flaking, with most flaking present on the left side. Mirror bore, retaining well defined rifling throughout. Grips show some light superficial handling marks, with the left grip exhibiting a crack towards the bottom right corner of the panel. Case shows some light wear from handling and storage, as well as a small spot of warping on the left side of the body, but otherwise remains presents nicely. (25-2115/MLW). CURIO. $2,500-2,800.
