Cal. 32 ACP. S# 97665. Bbl. 3.5". Mfg. 1919-1924. Hammerless auto-loading pistol designed by Heinrich Ortgies, manufactured in Germany following WWI. Serrated slide with integral sights. Blued steel frame and slide. Backstrap safety. Bottom magazine release. Hardwood grips with an early brass medallion bearing "D" (Deutsche). Left side of the slide is marked "DEUTSCHE WERKE / WERK ERFURT" and on the right side, "ORTGIES PATENT". Frame, below barrel, forward of trigger guard marked with serial number and "GERMANY". MAGS: 1 early 8rd. marked 7.65 on both sides. CONDITION: finish is complete and consistent, with only very light thinning at the muzzle and some high spots. Grips have small impressions and appear structurally sound. Bright bore with strong rifling. (22-5692/JZ). CURIO. $250-350.
