RIFLE. Cal. 22 LR. NSN. Bbl. 18 7/8". Model 1 single shot breechloading rifle mfg. by Deutsche Werke circa. the 1920s-1930s. Top of the bbl. is marked DEUTSCHE WERKE - WERK ERFURT", with the cal. designation marked on the left, as well as with a German eagle and Crown/B proof on the underside (Eagle and Crown/B proofing repeated on left side of hinged breechblock). Nose of forend is marked with a mostly illegible S#. 1-piece sanded and refinished plain wood straight grip stock. Dovetailed Marbles No. 2 natural white beaded blade front sight with integral U-notch rear sight on breechblock. CONDITION: metal components retain traces of their original factory blue finish, with the balance having faded to a gray/brown patina and exhibiting some scattered spots / patches of light to mild surface oxidation and pitting. Bore is relatively bright, exhibiting consistent light to mild pitting, while retaining good rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Stock exhibits some superficial marks from handling and storage, with a crack stemming from the upper receiver tang, rear trigger guard tang, and either side along the edges of the breechblock.
