SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL WITH REPRODUCTION STOCK & HOLSTER. Cal. 7.65x25mm Borchardt. S# 2915. Bbl. 7 1/2". Beautifully restored C93 Borchardt semi-automatic pistol mfg. by DWM. Right side of the bbl. extension is marked "SYSTEM BORCHARDT. PATENT./ DEUTSCHE WAFFEN-UND MUNITIONSFABRIKEN/ BERLIN.". Toggle is marked "D.R.P./ No 75837". Left side of bbl. and bbl. extension exhibit Crown/B and Crown/U commercial proofs. Factory markings have been enhanced at the time of restoration. Front grip strap is marked with 5 Siamese characters beneath the blue. This example is listed by S# on page 141 of "The Borchardt & Luger Automatic Pistols" by Dr. Geoffrey Sturgess and Joachim Gortz, and reads "It is possible that a small number of Borchardt pistols were acquired officially by Siam, since two late DWM production pistols, serial nos. 2915 and 2956, are known with Siamese markings to the grip." and goes on to indicate that S# 2956's rear grip strap is marked with a Siamese 6-bladed chakra. This pistol is also mentioned on Page 34 of "The Luger Story" by John Walter, with the Siamese markings being noted on the front grip strap. Metal components exhibit a professionally reapplied blue finish overall, with some small parts exhibiting either a reheated straw or nitre blue finish. Frame is mounted with 2-piece finely made reproduction checkered wood grips. Fixed blade front sight, with fixed V-notch rear sight. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame, recoil spring housing, sideplate, trigger, bbl., bbl. extension, breechblock, as well as the toggles. MAGS: 1 non-matching (S# "328") 8-rd. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: reproduction black leather holster, with quality made reproduction shoulder stock and detachable cheekpiece. CONDITION: metal components retain bountiful amounts of their professionally reapplied finishes, showing a few spots of light edge wear, as well as scattered spots of very light to light pitting beneath the finish overall. Frame exhibits patches of moderate pitting beneath the grips. Bore exhibits consistent moderate pitting, while retaining fair to good rifling throughout. Grips are excellent. Holster is excellent. Stock shows a few minor marks from handling and storage, but otherwise remains sturdy and serviceable. A finely restored and documented example C93 Borchardt pistol produced by DWM. (25-3438/MLW). CURIO. $10,000-15,000.
