MODEL LEVER ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 40-60 WCF. S# 54480. Rare combination of 28" full octagon bbl. with button mag. Sporting front sight, graduated leaf rear sight, with Vernier tang sight. Blue finish, with case colored hammer and lever. Walnut forearm and straight grip stock, with crescent steel trapdoor buttplate. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Cody Firearms Museum record stating "Type: Rifle/ Caliber: 40 60/ Barrel Type: Octagon/ Trigger: Plain/ 1/2 Magazine/ Received in warehouse on August 12, 1886/ Shipped from warehouse on August 25, 1886, Order number 8710". CONDITION: metal finish has faded to a mottled gray/brown, showing spots of very light pitting. Wood has dark worn appearance, showing numerous scratches and marks. Stock has small chip missing at right of top tang. Mechanically fine Good bore retains strong rifling with scattered light pitting. (01-27079/DS). ANTIQUE. $5,000-6,500.
