ACTION RIFLE CHAMBERED IN DESIRABLE 38 WCF. Cal. 38 WCF (38-40). S# 80238. Bbl. 24" octagon, with original sporting sights. Full length mag. Screw attached dust cover rail. Blue finish, with case colored hammer and lever. Walnut forearm and straight grip stock, with crescent steel trapdoor buttplate. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Cody Firearms Museum record stating "Type: Rifle/ Caliber 38/ Barrel Type: Octagon/ Received in warehouse on December 3, 1881/ Shipped from warehouse December 5, 1881, Order number 31043". CONDITION: over 50% original blue, showing flaking on the action, with scattered spots of surface freckling and light scratches. Hammer and lever show faint traces of case colors. Lightly sanded and refinished forearm shows small marks. Stock has worn original finish, with darkening around the action, showing scattered scratches and marks. Sound action.
