POLICE LEVER ACTION SADDLE RING CARBINE REISSUED TO THE LEGION OF FRONTIERSMEN. Cal. 45-75. S# 45304. Rare and desirable, this is one of 299 Model 1876 Carbines shipped to the NWMP by Winchester in April of 1885. Bbl. 22" carbine style. Carbine post front sight with special "NWMP" graduated rear sight. Left side of action is fitted with saddle ring. Full length walnut forearm with steel cap & single band. Straight grip walnut stock with steel carbine buttplate. Left side of stock is stamped with original crisp "NWMP" markings. Toeline of stock behind tang is stamped "LOF.206" which indicates Legion of Frontiersman reissue. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Cody Firearms Museum Records Check detailing the following information, "Date In: 4-17-85 / Carbine / Date Shipped: 4-18-85 / Order #: 20202". CONDITION: action retains 20% fading blue in protected areas with balance of action & most of bbl. having faded to gray showing scattered light pitting & some handling marks. Stocks have thinning original finish showing dents, scratches & marks, however markings remain crisp & well defined. Sound action. Bore retains strong rifling with mild frosting. (01-27037/DS).
