Cal. 50. NSN. Bbl. 42 1/4" heavy octagon measuring 1" across flats of muzzle. Top flat is marked "Don Golcher". Platinum lined touch hole. Dovetail mounted blade front sight w/ fixed square notch rear sight. No lock is included. Curled plain trigger. 3 wedge fastened full length cheek piece stock of extremely fancy burl maple. Rectangular lid engraved brass patchbox w/ foliate finial. Other brass fittings consist of engraved buttplate, finger curl trigger guard, fancy engraved sideplate escutcheons, faceted thimble, 2 pipes & nose cap. Wrist of stock has a German silver jumping salmon. Cheek piece has a mouldered lower edge surrounded by fine foliate relief carving w/ silver wire highlights roll to right side. Additional relief carving is found behind top tang & around thimble. Incise carved borders highlight either side of the ramrod channel. Brass tipped hardwood ramrod. WEIGHT: 10 lbs, 3.8 ozs. CONDITION: bbl. has light brown patina appearance. Stock has good finish showing scattered small marks. Bore is generally bright w/ sound rifling. (01-22795/DS). ANTIQUE. $600-800.
