WINDSOR, VT. Cal. 14 Ga. NSN. The 35 1/2" twist bbls. have proof marks filed off bottoms. Breech plugs & bbls. have some foliate engraving at breech end. Front spring locks w/ tall serpentine hammers have matching scroll & are marked "N. KENDALL" "WINDSOR VT". A single trigger is fitted. If both hammers are cocked, both will fire. Crotch figured American walnut swan neck stock is iron mounted. Squared trigger guard w/ finger spur has hump at rear forming grip. Buttplate has long top tang. Both of these pieces have engraving matching that found on locks & bbls. A scroll engraved German silver oval is on left side of stock. Stock attaches to bbls. w/ 2 sidebolts through shaped rectangular steel escutcheons. MEASUREMENTS: STOCK: DAH: 3 1/4". DAC: 1 7/8". LOP: 15". CAST: neutral. CONDITION: fair to good. Bbls. retaining most of an old rebrown w/ high edge wear. Locks have traces of case color where protected. Furniture has cleaned highlights in brown finish. Stock w/ most of what appears to be its original finish also has many marks. There is loss of wood on left side in bbl. channel in front of lock. Bores are pitted throughout. Locks are operable.
